I was planning to post this next week, but I’ve been getting so much great feedback from today’s Highlights post that I got impatient. Many of the goals I have for 2013 pertain to this blog. Over the past few months, I have fully rediscovered my passion for writing and I have this blog (and you, my fabulous readers) for that. I have made it a point to always be completely honest and transparent with my readers and I want you all to know that by the end of 2013, I hope that I can consider this blog a major part of my career. And I’m not saying that because I want to make money off of it or because I’m dying for free products. Both of those things would be great, I’m not going to lie. But the reason I want to make this blog a career is because I love it. I love writing. I love connecting with my readers. I love sharing my life and my inspiration with all of you. This blog challenges me to live a more creative and inspiring life. It’s taken me the better part of twenty-six years to figure it out, but I’m a writer. It’s what I love to do. It’s what comes most naturally to me. And I hope that this year, I can begin to call it my profession.
So why am I telling you all of this (besides the fact that I tell you guys everything)? I have a favor to ask of you. In the past few months, the level of engagement on my blog has gone through the roof and I couldn’t be happier. You comment on my posts, you email me, you tweet me. You tell me what you love, you give me advice, and you encourage me. My blog has evolved so much and that’s mostly because of you. And while this blog will always stay true to my passions, I would really like to know what my readers want to see and read. Do you love my highlights posts? Do you love beauty posts? What do you think this blog is missing? What would you like to see more of? Here’s a list of the things I think I need to add or do more often:
- Personal/everyday life posts and photos: I have to get better about carrying my camera and capturing everyday life. Because every once in a while, I experience some pretty cool things.
- Personal style: scheduling photo sessions with the three photographers in my life can be tough. But when they’re not available, Sudan can do it. He’s actually pretty good! I have a confession though: I’m not that blogger who wears heels and skirts and designer blazers everyday. I like to think of my style as comfy chic with a few standouts here and there.
- Cooking and recipes: Cooking more often is one of my New Year’s goals, so why not share it here? Maybe that will force me to actually follow through with it.
- DIY: I have a huge folder of DIY projects I want to tackle and just haven’t had the time to do them. I’m totally going to do them this year.
- Original content: I went to Blogshop solely so that I could accomplish this goal. I want to post more mood boards, more fashion inspiration posts, and just more fun stuff. And now I can create it myself!
- Beauty and Skincare: Sometimes I think I drive you guys crazy with my beauty obsession, but I love it so I’m going to keep talking about it.

First off not that this is a secret, but I LOVE your blog. You are a fabulous writer and you suck me in every time. I always feel like I am in the movie of your life haha. Anyhow I could not be more happier for you that you are living out your interest and your passion!
As far what I would like to see…I like it all honestly, but I really enjoy DIY so I totally would not mind seeing some of those creative projects. I also love stuff about life, inspirational messages, and all things fun (fun stuff to do, fun places, hearing about fun idk it gets me excited haha).

Hmmmm where do I start? Your blog is so many things to me. I visit it as frequently as I visit Facebook or twitter longing for the content to refresh…seriously! It’s like having my favorite magazine at my finger tips. I love the skin care and beauty tips. I look for the products you mention. Highlights are my favorite! The highlights give me a little of everything and I enjoy the variety.
I LOVE that you are finally doing what you love.. You make think of that quote “Do what you love and the money will come” Not everyone has the courage to do that but shout out to you for taking that leap of faith doing embarking on an adventure that you can be proud of and LOVE doing every day!!!!!
You’re a phenomenal writer. When your post only consist of pictures its like a tease! I look forward to reading every day.

I love all of your posts, and I love that you are so personal. I would like to see more recipes and personal style inspiration. I think your personal views on certain issues or topics or an “Ask Jerrell” section would be great.
I’m just like Candi…when I turn on my iPad, I refresh the page to see if there is another post! I’m uber excited that you did two posts today! With that being said, if you had more time to do more than one post, that would be great! I love seeing your life, highlights and wedding plans. I think more pictures of you, your style and what you are doing would be great. My favorite things that you post are your favorite things, highlights and beauty products. I really enjoyed your holiday guides (but you didn’t tell us what you received for Christmas or what gifts you bought for others). I am also a techno geek, so what are your favorite gadgets? Favorite apps? Most used things?Favorite websites? Oh yeah…recipes! Maybe a fitness post…Just give us everything.
Whatever you post will be great! We can tell that you love what you do, that’s why we enjoy it so much.
