Monday Motivation: do-over.

by JerrellRenee on June 25, 2012

Remember way back when I was a serious runner? And then I moved home, transferred schools, got bronchitis and completely fell off the wagon? Yeah…that was terrible. So I’m starting over. Anyone care to join? No need to be embarrassed by how out of shape you are, or how slow you are, or how fat you feel. You’ll never feel better about any of that until you start. And if you give it your all, you will succeed. Trust me. I was that girl who couldn’t even run for 2 minutes in the park. A few months later, I was training for a half marathon. And a few months after that, I finished one.

Not a runner? That’s fine. Grab your bike. Or a tennis racket. Buy a 6 month pass to your favorite yoga studio. Just find something that you love that will challenge you and stick with it. You may lose weight. You may not. But I guarantee you, you’ll feel better. And the rest really comes from that.

Hey! I have been in a funk with working out and this sounds great I had set a realistic goal, and did not accomplish it. I want to be able to do a 10k and I was suppose to gear up for it. Well, today or tomorrow I will finally get back at it since things have settled down for me. I love running, so I will be joining you!

That’s great! I just printed a new training calendar from the Nike Running facebook page. They have a beginner’s 10k calendar if you need one. Also try Hal Higdon’s website. He has lots of free training plans (www.halhigdon.com). So excited for you!

click here: http://www.facebook.com/nikerunning/app_269581749815664 and then click on your distance. “Finish A Race” is the level that I chose.

Jerrell you are right you just have to go out there and do it and stick with it. I am in the process of training for my first half marathon and it feels great.
