Happy Friday! I’m an especially happy girl this weekend because I’m in Roanoke, Virginia visiting my boyfriend. We have plans to go hiking and visit a new-to-us vineyard. Sounds like the makings of a fantastic long weekend if you ask me! Unfortunately, all of the fun will have to wait until I tackle the mountain of reading I brought with me. But first, I have a few highlights (mostly, if not all, shopping related. I have a problem.) to share with you.
:: My entire family is obsessed with blankets and throws. The cozier, the better. So when my sister ordered the Barefoot Dreams In The Wild Leopard Throw, I knew I had to have it. I just couldn’t justify the price. I waited for months, but decided to splurge when I moved because I wanted to add some color to my white couch. And it was so worth it. This blanket is amazing. I’m definitely getting a CozyChic Robe next. Sign up for their email list and get 15% off of your first online order!
:: My obsession with candles has gone to another level since I moved. Did you know Jonathan Adler makes candles? I found them at a little boutique in New Orleans called Hattie Sparks, but you can also get them online. My favorites are the Grapefruit Pop, Sugar Pop, and Acapulco candles. What are your favorite candles? I’m always looking for new ones.
:: When school started, I bought a North Face backpack because law books are so heavy. But the North Face bag isn’t exactly a “take anywhere” kind of bag. I was thinking about getting another Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Knapsack, but my heavy books did a number on the straps of my last one and I didn’t want to spend another $200 on a bag that wouldn’t last. I ended up going with the Back to Class Backpack from Lululemon and I’m so glad I did. It’s super cute, has a million compartments and didn’t give me buyer’s remorse. It also comes in all black and white.
:: I’m looking for lots of art to fancy up my apartment walls. I have really high ceilings so there’s huge potential for a gallery wall. I’m loving this So Kiss Me painting from Cake for Breakfast. I definitely need this Gold Frames print from Honey & Bloom too. And of course, Virginia and Louisiana prints from Poppy and Pinecone. Oh, and my obsession with all things Inslee continues with the release of the 2014 calendar. Order yours before they sell out! Do you guys have any other ideas? Do any of you have a gallery wall? Where did you find all of your pieces?
:: I’m going to talk more about this in an upcoming beauty post, but I recently found the most amazing lip balm and I can’t keep it a secret any longer. It’s the Nuxe Rêve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm. It’s $19, but the pot has .52oz in it which is larger than most lip balms, so I think it will last a long time. It’s nourishing without being too slick or sticky. I use it every morning and night as the final step in my skincare routine. Check your local Walgreens before ordering it online. That’s where I found mine!
Whoa, that felt like a lot! I have so much more where that came from, but I have a date with Starbucks and Constitutional Law! Have a fantastic Labor Day Weekend everyone!
